Desertata Coin
Desertata Coin
2 1/2 inch heavy, hand made sterling silver ’antique’ coin, 1/4 inch thick. An inscription in a raised font within the recessed wolf profile reads, ”The wolf that wins is the wolf you feed,” referring to the old Cherokee parable. Each coin comes with its own pouch and printed parable.
A totem, an inspirational “lucky charm.” A reminder that we will all struggle to be the best version of ourselves against the worst. But we all have free will. In the end, we must choose who we are meant to be.
TWO WOLVES
A Cherokee elder was teaching his young grand young grandson about life.
"A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy. "It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, self-doubt and ego.
The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.
This same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too."
The boy thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?"
The elder simply replied, "The one you feed."
